An Interview with Martin Kufus || Season 2, Episode 1
Welcome to the inaugural second season of New Mexico's INFLUENCE Magazine Show! In this exciting interview, we speak with Martin Kufus - an author and real life "most interesting man in the world." Martin is a U.S. Army veteran who served with distinction during the height of Cold War era tensions. He's also been a journalist, storm chaser, farmer, hand to hand combat instructor, and he's even defended cargo ships sailing in pirate waters off of the coast of Africa. Plow the Dirt but Watch the Sky is Martin's first book, and is a collection of real life stories that are laced with adventure, action, suspense, and even ironic humor. As an independent scholar on the topics of the Bible, herbology, and wellness, Nnayaha presents an unprecedented view on the substance known as melanin - ordinarily known to be what makes up human skin pigmentation. Nnayaha explains that the substance may have important properties beyond pigmentation that is currently only being explored on a surface level by modern science.

Fred is the son of Mexican immigrants who first arrived in America during the 1930s. As a first generation Texan, he was born in Houston and became a law enforcement officer, where he spent most of his career serving his community and its people.
Eventually, fate, hard work, and a long standing passion for the hand tooled belt buckles of Nelson-Silvia led Fred to buying the company and becoming its new owner and CEO. Continuing the Nelson-Silvia Company's rich traditions beginning in 1941, Fred has successfully been able to take the company to new heights well into the twenty first century.

Women of Power: An Interview with Major Brittany “Blitz” Trimble, USAF || Season 1, Episode 3
We are honored to feature Major Brittany "Blitz" Trimble, USAF, as one of our seven "Women of Power" featured in the MAY-JUNE issue of New Mexico's INFLUENCE Magazine. Major Trimble was also kind enough to join us on this third episode of our first season talk show! Brittany Trimble was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and has an Air Force veteran pilot father, who later became a commercial pilot for Federal Express (FedEx).
Major Trimble, however, never had any prior experience in piloting aircraft prior to joining the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer following college. She later went on to become the only female in Holloman Air Force Base's inaugural F-16 Basic Course - and later, ended up being the only female in her Squadron during her time serving in Korea and Japan.
Major Trimble later covers what she teaches at Holloman Air Base, and what rookie F-16 fighter pilots can expect with her as an instructor. Additionally, she informs us that her base trains a whopping 50% of all F-16 fighter pilots and nearly 24% of all USAF pilots overall. She also discusses her experiences as a female fighter pilot instructor, her career challenges, leadership notes, and lends advice to others looking for success in their chosen fields.

Interview with Dr. Felicia Fontenot, DDS, MHS || Season 1, Episode 1
In this first season debut episode of New Mexico's INFLUENCE Magazine Show, we sit down with Dr. Felicia Fontenot - the first ever Mescalero Apache Native American to become a dentist. During the episode, Dr. Fontenot frankly and candidly lays out her views on diversity in our healthcare system, the unfortunate reality around oral disease and illness within the Native American population, her culture shock after going straight to Stanford University from the Mescalero Apache reservation, and also which people and books she refers to when needing inspiration. Dr. Fontenot is the current President and member of the Society for American Indian Dentists (SAID). She is a happily married wife and mother, educator, and hopes to use her platform to inspire others to success: including and especially for the disadvantaged in the Native American community.
